Who can make a Legacy Gift?

Anyone with a desire to give can make a planned gift. Many are surprised to learn how easy it is to create a lasting legacy that can preserve the family name, honor loved ones, support a favorite nonprofit, minimize tax burdens and/or support the community they call home. (Bequests to Ada Regional United Way are exempt from estate taxes)

How will the proceeds of my fund be used to benefit the community?

Ada Regional United Way invests your gift and makes grants from the earnings annually. If your gift creates unrestricted capacity, Ada Regional United Way will use the annual distribution to make impact grants that align with the pressing needs or compelling needs of the community. Funds for specific nonprofits will be distributed directly to the agencies each year.

How do I plan a Legacy Gift?

The process is fairly simple. Anytime you are drafting or changing your will or estate plan, you may want to consider charitable legacy gifts. Your financial or legal advisor can provide professional guidance related to your specific estate, beneficiaries, income goals, taxes, and other considerations. Once you've made provisions for naming Ada Regional United Way, Inc as a beneficiary, please make a Statement of Intent that clarifies your commitment and communicates your wishes.

Donor Advised Fund

Charitable Gift Annuity

Give the gift of a lifetime. With a charitable gift annuity, a fixed income is delivered for life, you'll receive immediate tax benefits and make a charitable gift. At your end of life, the remainder of your gift is passed on to Ada Regional United Way, Inc. It’s a selfless gift with all the benefits of an investment.

Endowment

Want to impact your community for generations to come? Endowments can bring your vision to life. Endowments invest gifts for long-term growth while making payments to charitable causes annually. The principal grows over time, so your gift multiplies through the years. Endowments are a great way to support Ada Regional United Way, Inc in this life and beyond. Many donors choose to name their fund with their or their family's name or as a memorial to a loved one. If you wish to remain anonymous, we suggest you select a name that reflects your fund's charitable interest. We will protect your identity if you so choose.

IRA Charitable Rollover

Put your gift to use today and see the difference your investment is making. This gift is tax-free by allowing investors who are 70 1/2 or older to transfer funds, up to $100,000.00, to a charitable organization without it counting towards their taxable income in the year the gift was made. All you would need to do is contact your IRA trustee to make the gift. The IRA rollover offers older Americans the opportunity to give back to the causes they support in their communities without suffering adverse tax consequences.
