Ada Regional United Way has brought the organization’s premier early childhood education initiative to Wintersmith Park. The new Born Learning Trail opened to the public last Monday as area children enjoyed bottled water and hot dogs courtesy of Vision Bank and Citizens Bank.
The new trail consists of signs and sidewalk paintings along a path between the Wintersmith Splash Park and the Jones Chapel Schoolhouse (also known as the Little Red Schoolhouse) along 18th Street.
“The trail is a series of ten fun and interactive signs, each with a specific set of activities that range from playing hopscotch to listening to the birds sing and identifying words beginning with specific letters,” said James Jackson, ARUW executive director.
